Our Shelves~ June
Well I finally got picture of my tray for our theme this month! I am very excited about these since they have turned out well (at least I think they did)! Our theme this month is Farms. I chose this for a few reasons. One was that there are alot of easy to read and write words for Bunny to work with. Another reason was that we are planning a field trip to a farm in the area soon! Finally I saw Counting Coconutsย farm theme and I fell in love! ๐ย So I ran with it, especially after Bunny said she liked it! ๐ So here is what our shelves have on them:
Practical Life:
Chopstick transferring
Water Shaking
ย (this is a salt and pepper jar, I thought that it would be good practice for salting food. If someone has a better way to teach this let me know!)

(I am following the Dwyer Approach as opposed to the Pink, Blue, and Green Series, So everything in this box is with sounds I know she knows.)

Sensorial:
Smelling Bottles are new this month!
Math:
I am getting my sister to use the Cricket to make me some really sweet farm animals that I am going to put some math problems on. I will do Addition and I think I will introduce subtraction and carrying! I will have to post more on that when I get it!

Lovely trays! I love Mari-Ann’s monthly themes, wish I could be like her. Now you are on my list of inspiring mommas! Looking forward to see pictures of Bunny using these trays over the course of this month!

Great ideas and so much fun! I love your work with the shaker. How does it work? Do you have the girls shake into the pitcher? And if so do they return the water to the shaker or some other place? We’ve used a shaker for a work to learn wiping a tray. You shake out the water on the tray, then sponge it off into a little bucket. The children loved it!

Thanks so much everyone. Bunny has really been enjoying the work, and I really had fun putting it together! ๐ (Pup seems to have taken a break for a while. I’m not sure why, but if you dont see many pictures of her that’s why!).
Leslie~ I love the idea of your salt shaker work! I will have to switch it to that later this month if they loose intrest in the way it is currently! I do have them shake it into the pitcher and then, pour it back when they are done. However, I think your way will be more fun! ๐

Hi! How did you make your little booklets? Did you go by the instructions at Montessori Print Shop or do it on your own? I love your blog and I’m a fellow classmate in Karen’s class. I think I’ve introduced myself before but I do have Mom Brain. LOL
